About the Treatment
Bone grafting is a surgical procedure performed to rebuild bone volume in areas where, due to bone resorption following tooth loss, there is insufficient bone for an implant.
Features
- Prepares the bone foundation before implant placement
- Helps preserve facial contours
- Can be combined with a sinus lift in suitable cases
Treatment Process
1. Bone Analysis
Bone density and volume are assessed with tomography.
2. Choice of Graft Material
The patient’s own bone, an allograft or a synthetic graft material is planned.
3. Surgical Procedure
The bone graft is placed under local anaesthesia.
4. Healing and Implant
Implant placement usually follows a 3–6 month healing period.
What Is a Sinus Lift?
A sinus lift is a procedure in which bone volume in the posterior upper jaw is increased by placing a bone graft at the floor of the sinus.
The results of any surgical or interventional procedure may vary from person to person. It is recommended that you obtain detailed advice from your physician before the procedure.
